The IEEE Student branch proposes to organize a two day open source workshop on 17th and 18th of march 2007. The workshop will be aimed at popularising opensource products and solutions and will be acting as an awareness congress. We invite participation from all open source enthusiasts across the country.

The workshop consists of keynote lectures and discussions by people from the industry and academia.
We encourage people to address the tools, techniques and contexts which are involved in critical activities such as requirements gathering,analysis and design, coordination and collaboration,debugging and documentation etc.

Apart from the keynote lectures the workshop plans to have stalls put up by the student groups where they will make an earnest effort to display and popularise different open source products and their advantages.Every stall will be manned by more than 5 students and will be equipped with personal computers and workstations in order to show people the working of open source products
Linux 4 u !!!!
The workshop also aims to stall many computers with different distributions of linux and other open source operating systems installed so that the people can get hands on experience and so can get a look and feel of the product.This feature will be available at different stalls as well

Wondered if the government could provide equal opportunity for all by means of enabling equal guidance at school level instead of resorting to vote bank tacktics?
